Crystal Meth-Methamphetamine

Methamphetamine is also know as, Yaba, Meth, Ice, Glass, Crystal Meth, Crank. It belongs to the amphetamine group of drugs like speed and ecstasy. Its appearance can be found in many different forms - tablets, powder, or crystals. Depending on the type of Methamphetamine it can be swallowed, snorted or injected. It can also be smoked unlike other amphetamine drugs.

The effects of taking this drug:

  • Paranoia
  • Confusion
  • Aggression
  • Alert
  • Energetic
  • Reduced appetite
  • Increase blood pressure and heart rate

The effects of taking this drug can last between 4 –12 hours and the comedown can be quite severe. Methamphetamine can be addictive which can result in psychological and physical dependance. Methamphetamine is a Class A drug so it’s illegal to have in your possession, give away and sell.

There have been recent reports of another supposedly strong form of amphetamine, 4-methylamphetamine, being sold as Ket Phet or Phet Ket. 4-methylamphetamine may also be more toxic than amphetamine sulphate. Like methamphetamine 4-methylamphetamine is also a Class A drug. You can get up to 7 years in prison and unlimited fine and in some cases you can get up to life imprisonment if caught with Methhamphetamine. If police catch you in possession of Methamphetamine they will definitely take action, this may also hinder your chances of visiting countries abroad and gaining employment.

Driving a motor vehicle whilst high on Methhamphetamine is illegal the same as drink driving, you may incur a hefty fine, disqualification from driving and in some circumstances be sent to prison. Also, allowing other people to take Methamphetamine in your house is illegal, police will prosecute the owner of the house.
