If you are aged 12 years or over and want to fish for salmon, trout, freshwater fish or eels in Wales, England (except the River Tweed) or the Border Esk and its tributaries in Scotland you must have an Environment Agency rod licence
If you are caught fishing without a license you can be fined up to £2500
