Farm Animals

  • Farm animals are any animals that are kept for use or profit
  • The most common farm animals are cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks and horses
  • Wales is famous for farming excellent cattle and sheep for meat
  • Different animals live on different types of farms. For example, dairy farms usually keep cows purely for their milk

Urban Farms

  • Urban farms are becoming increasingly common. These are farms within cities on smaller sites than traditional country farms
  • You can often visit urban farms for a small fee to see how they work and learn about the animals. The animals in urban farms are the same as those found in traditional farms
  • In Wales there are city farms in Conwy, Cardiff, Barry, Swansea and Cwmbran
