Work Experience
In Year 10 or 11 you will get the chance to gain work experience for up to two weeks with an employer. This is usually arranged so that it is experience of a type of work that would be interested in, perhaps in the future.
It depends on your school when you go, usually during term-time. Each school varies in how they make the arrangements, sometimes the teacher will make arrangements with a number of employers beforehand, sometimes you and your parents can suggest a suitable placement.
The idea is to give you a chance to find out what work is like and what employers need and it looks great on your CV and any application forms you‘ll be filling out in the future.
