Learning Museum Trainee Placement

With funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and in partnership with the British Muse-um, Wrexham Museum is currently looking for a trainee to join its team on a year-long paid training programme.
The purpose of this programme is to equip you with the skills necessary to work in the museum sector so we don’t expect you to have any previous experience.
We are looking for people:
Who like working with the public
Who are open to new experiences and keen to learn
Who can show they can benefit from this opportunity
Who are willing to commit to a year-long programme of self-development and learning
Applications are particularly welcome from:
People aged between 18-24
People new to the museum sector
People yet to complete a graduate qualification
People who are from Wrexham county borough

You will have the opportunity to work in all areas of the museum including collections, archives, exhibitions, learning, events and working with our visitors.
You will complete a QCF Level 3 Cultural Heritage Diploma by the end of your train-eeship.
You will receive a £13,000 tax free bursary
You will start your traineeship at the end of September 2016
We want to recruit people who stand to benefit most from the programme. If you do have a degree you can still apply, but it is possible the programme would be of less ben-efit to you than someone without that qualification.
If you already have extensive experience of working in a museum (upwards of three months, full time or equivalent, paid or unpaid) or have a postgraduate qualification in a related area then unfortunately you are not eligible to apply.
