About The Filter
The Filter is a Wales-only, bilingual information and advice service about tobacco and smoking. We want to give you the facts and filter out the myths about tobacco. We’re not here to moan to you about the dangers of smoking because everyone knows that smoking kills - half of regular and ex-smokers die from smoking-related illnesses. We’re just saying that if you’re going to do it, do it with informative, accurate knowledge on what you’re doing. Our website houses tonnes of facts, campaigns, news stories and general information on anything to do with smoking, from "what is shisha?" to "the cost of smoking."
The project also includes:
A quit line with free phone, text and online instant messenger support for anyone in Wales who's under 25 and wants to give up smoking or learn more about the effects of tobacco
Training for young people and adults about smoking, the effects of tobacco and how to support others to give up
Volunteering opportunities both in person and online
A film competition where young people can win prizes for making 2 minute adverts showing their friends why smoking is a bad idea
The following services are available Monday to Friday 3pm to 8pm -
