Reducing incidence of Domestic Abuse and repeat victimisation is a key priority for Partnership Delivery Board 3. A critical part of this work is to increase peoples confidence in reporting incidents of Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence and also improve access to support for victims and survivors.

In order to ensure that victims and survivors can access support partners in Wrexham arrange a series of awareness raising campaigns throughout the year. One of the most significant campaigns is the White Ribbon campaign which is a global campaign that encourages both men and women to wear a white ribbon as a personal pledge never to commit, condone nor remain silent about violence against women. The White Ribbon campaign runs annually during November.

Public Service students from Coleg Cambria support the work on an annual basis and work with Community Safety partners to develop awareness raising campaigns as part of their Welsh Bac qualification.

During the White Ribbon campaign activities in November 2015 students from the college attended a training session facilitated by staff from Welsh Womens Aid Wrexham, Stepping Stones and Wrexham County Borough Council Partnerships team. Following the training , students were set a task to develop awareness raising materials for use in Wrexham County Borough. The students developed publicity materials in the form of sleeves, for use with disposable hot drinks cups. The branded sleeves provide concise information about Domestic Abuse and details of the Live Fear Free helpline number. The sleeves will be used at catering venues across all five Coleg Cambria campuses and Caf Hoffi Koffi in Queens Square.

On Friday 13 May 2016 the Domestic Abuse campaign was formally launched at Coleg Cambria by AM, Lesley Griffiths, the event was also be supported by Lee Robinson and other partners working in the field of  Community Safety.

Domestic Abuse blights the lives of hundreds of women, men and children in the County Borough. Anyone witnessing or experiencing abuse are encouraged to ring the Live Fear Free helpline on 08 08 10 800 which is a 24 hour helpline
