20,000 people in one place?
20,000 people in one place? I've never seen so many people I know, in one place at one time. It seemed that everyone from Wrexham and the surrounding areas had turned up to hear The Stereophonics. If that wasn't enough of an excuse to celebrate, do I really need to remind everyone about the Wales football match on the Friday night?!
There was a great atmosphere in Wrexham on Saturday, with young and old alike descending on to the racecourse. The wristband exchange was quick and efficient and we certainly didn't have to hang around entering the grounds. However once the crowd started to grow so did the queues for the toilets, food and drink.
This was soon forgotten as the bands kicked off, warming the crowd up for the main act. (A crowd that was still on a high from the previous night)
The Stereophonics stepped on stage, the crowd sang along, interesting dance moves broke out; people were slung on shoulders and the range waterproof jackets grew. Hits from old and new were belted out, from a band that is still going strong after nearly twenty years. It certainly didn't seem it, with people from young and old soaking up a memorable night, and a memorable weekend.
