Working from home
More employers are becoming more flexible about working arrangements as it can be a way of saving money, employing people in different locations to the main place of work and fit work around other lifestyle commitments such as childcare etc.
Many people now work from home thanks to the Internet, e-mail and video link software like Skype.
- Working from home doesn't mean that you get to choose the hours you work
- Working from home doesn't mean that you don't work as much as everyone else. Employers will still require you to be in contact and prove that you are working
- It can require a lot more discipline to carry out your duties and not be distracted by other things going on at home
- Working away from the rest of your colleagues can be isolating and you miss out on developing relationships with them
