Yn Gymraeg

The idea for my film Open Up To Mondays came from the brief ‘make a film about why you love Mondays.’

I played around with a few ideas and genres until deciding it would make a quirky romantic film with a twist.

I studied film in college and went on to study media and writing in Glynd?r University in North East Wales and fell in love with filmmaking.

Directing scenes in university and jumping into work experience outside of my studies gave me the foundation to start making my own films.

Using the support of the many contacts I made while on work experience helped make the production process run smoother. As the saying goes ‘It’s who you know’.

Although I have been involved in many filming projects, this is the first short film I have solely co-ordinated and directed. The process had its ups and downs but everything fell into place in the end and I loved every minute of it.

Film is something I am very passionate about and despite having difficulties such as dyslexia I have decided that it is the industry I want to be a part of.

Great work. Did you set yourself the brief or was it in uni?

This is absolutely awesome! Have you entered any film festivals? I've entered a few and they're awesome. There's the Youth and Christian Film Festival (I don't think you HAVE to be a Christian to enter if you're not one. I'm agnostic and I was fine! As long as you are in the youth category which is like up to 30?) which is great. There are categories such as "UK's Best Short Film" (won that one twice ;D) "Best International Short Film", and loads of big ones. It's a great event over all. There's plenty out there and I reckon you should enter this in one. Good luck for the future! xxxx
