Inspiring A Generation
Inspire a generation. That was the aim of this year's Olympic and Paralympic Games. Now that the Games are over and the medals have been won, it is time to create a lasting legacy. In Wales, that mission started last week as the third Young Ambassador Conference was held at the Sport Wales National Centre.
Eighty young people from across Wales came together to learn how they can make a difference in their local authorities and achieve the Sport Wales ambition of getting every child hooked on sport for life. These young people have been chosen to be Gold Ambassadors and have the responsibility of being positive role models to inspire young people to participate in sport. They join over a thousand Bronze and Silver Ambassadors throughout Wales who are all passionate about creating a lasting legacy in Wales.
The conference was attended by Olympic bronze medalist Alex Danson and Paralympic silver medalist Mel Clarke. Paralympian Rhys Jones also attended who used to be a Young Ambassador himself. Their role during the day was to mentor the new Young Ambassadors, teaching them about what skills they need and what skills they can develop. There was also the opportunity to ask the athletes questions and hear about their experiences over the summer.
Everyone left the conference feeling truly inspired and ready for a busy year ahead.

The olympics were amazing and can just prove what people can achieve once they put their mind to it.
